On Tuesday the 10th of January, we were able to taste our own wine for the first time at Neerlands Wijnmakerij in Bentelo. The taste was still a bit sour, but not at all bad! We actually expected not to be able to taste anything of the final flavour yet, but that turned out to be not so bad. In close consultation with the team at Neerlands Wijnmakerij, we decided to merge the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with the Riesling and Cabernet Blanc, because this combination lends itself well to making a Sekt. This means we won't be able to present a wine to you this year, unfortunately, as a Sekt takes much longer to mature. We therefore hope to serve a delicious Sekt in 2024, perhaps together with a still white and red wine from the 2023 harvest.
