In recent weeks, we have done a lot of tillage. Among other things, Bokashi has been applied. Bokashi is the Japanese word for 'well-fermented organic material'. This can be anything, as long as it is fresh. Bokashi not only provides nutrition for plants and improves soil structure, but also activates soil life. We applied this in the new 2022 planting to reduce weed pressure in the rows in addition to the above-mentioned benefits. By applying Bokashi around the stems, we no longer (or much less) need to go through the rows with the finger weeder and prevent plant damage due to this intensive mechanical tillage.
